1. Start from where you are!

I love 'personal development.' I read as many books and watch as many films and attend as many webinars as I can.
As I learn new things I re-read the books and find new insights.
We are all on this planet to experience this glorious thing called Life.
Life can be funny, hard, a struggle sometimes, but it is a gift above all else.
What we choose to do with this incredible gift is up to us.
I have two lovely children who have grown up. I now learn far more from then than they learn from me. I am lucky enough to have great friends and family, friendly work colleagues and some truly magnificent animals that pop up in my life to share the fun and teach me even more.
I teach, I write, I draw, I coach. I love learning and I love to pass on what I learn in the hope that I can encourage others to live their best lives. I am learning to appreciate the small but important things. I love looking at the plants growing in each season and appreciating how contrasting weather changes our landscape continuously.

We can be very hard on ourselves. We can often say to ourselves, 'I could have /should have done that better.' Our negative-self-talk can be far crueller than anything anyone else can say to us. We wouldn't treat our friends in this way. We can learn to become good friends to ourselves.

I find it very helpful to remember that we are perfect as we are right now. We are right where we should to be at this very moment.
We may wish we had more money, more friends, better health etc. and tell ourselves that when we achieve these goals we will finally appreciate our lives and let ourselves be happy.
In reality everything is happening exactly as it should. We learn from each experience and we grow.
I believe that if we start from where we are right now, we can truly be happy and appreciate each moment.

I had my book published over a year ago now. I am so happy that other people  have enjoyed reading it and it has helped them.
I feel that this is one way of me thanking others for what they have taught me. If I am able to pass on what I am learning maybe some other people will find this helpful and in turn they can share what they have learnt with others.
This is the way for us all to learn and grow together and truly enjoy our precious lives.
